How soon can I be prescribed mental health medication?
You can be prescribed medication privately after your private psychiatric assessment or Adult ADHD assessment if there are no contraindications to starting medication. Safe prescribing of medication is usually reserved for more severe and complex mental health problems.

Out-of-hours appointments for a private psychiatric assessment (£400) are usually available in 15 working days. We also offer non-urgent daytime consultations in 2 months (£280). Do I need a GP referral requesting a private psychiatric assessment or a private ADHD assessment?
A GP referral is preferable, as well as informing your GP of any recommendations for medication and treatment. However, we appreciate that strict privacy, confidentiality, and discretion need to be maintained and that private patients may not wish to share personal information with their GP. Most of our patients self-refer, and many choose not to involve their GP for various reasons. ​​

How many sessions will I need?
Our patients start to feel better after their psychiatric assessment. Medical and psychosocial recommendations are given about the best course of action for your treatment and recovery. Mild to moderate mental health problems tend to need several treatment sessions, whilst more severe and complex problems may need longer-term mental health therapy and medication for effective recovery and relapse prevention.​

A GP medical summary is provided confirming diagnosis and treatment recommendations. A more detailed psychiatric report can be prepared on request, depending on your needs.

We accept payment in advance by BACS transfer, cash, or credit/ debit card via PayPal (IamPsychiatry). We also offer affordable payment plans of 1 to 3 months.
